Since the upcoming book is entitled “Warrior,” I thought I’d go for quotes from/by/about warriors. 🙂
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.” ~ Sun Tzu
“Whatever you are physically…male or female, strong or weak, ill or healthy–all those things matter less than what your heart contains. If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior. All those other things, they are the glass that contains the lamp, but you are the light inside.” ~ Cassandra Clare
“Come back with your shield – or on it.” Plutarch (who cited it as a Spartan saying.) Funny aside here, when Maddie started middle school, I used to say this to her when I dropped her off at school. Mind you, I give my children a blessing every single morning – this part was extra for the biggie. The day they talked about Sparta in history was apparently hilarious, as Maddie was thrilled to point out “Hey! That’s what my mom says to me every morning!” I know, I’m strange. 😉
“Warriors jump over walls; they don’t demolish them.” ~ Toltec saying
“When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.” ~ Chief Aupumut (Mohican Chief – I threw this one in for my dad.)
Blessings to you all, and never give up!
