Friday Philosophy ~ Gardening

I putter in the garden over here, and in the greenhouse. I haven’t had to purchase any herbs or tomatoes in months, and I’m growing our salads too. πŸ™‚ I always feel like I’m reconnecting with the “big picture” when I get outside and play in the dirt. So, today’s blog is inspired by enjoyable hours in a backyard garden.

“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.” Marcus Tullius Cicero (This is absolute truth, am I right?!)

“I like gardening – it’s a place where I find myself when I need to lose myself.” ~ Alice Sebold

“My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece.” ~ Claude Monet

β€œIt was such a pleasure to sink one’s hands into the warm earth, to feel at one’s fingertips the possibilities of the new season.” ~ Kate Morton

“A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all it teaches entire trust.” ~ Gertrude Jekyll

Friday blessings to you all! I’ll be hiding in my garden while the world around me goes mad these next two weekends. πŸ™‚
