Poetry Speaks

It was a sane madness
a dress
a wallpaper

A wild robbery
the loss of a name
a theft of voice

The names blend
into a solid wall –
a Virginia, George, Anais,
Simone, Edna, Charlotte –
mural

To tell the world:
“We were here.”
“We mattered.”
“We remain.”
