An odd, and possibly dark, Friday Philosophy is waiting for you this week. There’s really no specific reason for this change in tone, just strange dreams and observations over the course of the past five days. I’m feeling pretty darn cheerful, despite all of that. And sleepy. Of course. Perhaps “dark” is an inappropriate adjective. Today’s quotes and thoughts are more martial in nature.
“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” ~ Ash Sweeney
“If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.” ~ Sun Tzu
“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
“I don’t think you need to go looking for the enemy. He’s going to look for you.” ~ Willie Aames
So, there you have it, some scattered philosophical thoughts for a Friday. I am about to resume writing and coffee drinking, as I can hardly keep my eyes open today.
Blessings to you all…
