Our skies are threatening rain here again, in the midst of the worst drought in California history. We’ve had more rain this year than any year in recent history (by recent, I mean the last rainy season took place in 2005, while I was hugely pregnant and trying to waddle gracefully).

Days like this increase my gratitude that 90% of the work I do can take place at home: I don’t have to negotiate traffic with desert dwellers and snowbirds. Also, there’s something to be said for gloomy skies while doing final edits – it’s a mood lifter.
