No, I am not talking about the television series “Empire.” 🙂 We’ve only just had cable for the first time in ages, so I haven’t even begun to catch up on any tv shows.
I’m talking about building, working for the future, and contemplating the idea of legacies. I’m approaching this from a more positive standpoint, not a Bubonic Plague/Fall of Rome standpoint. (Can you tell what my daughter has been studying lately?)
“Bring me men to match my mountains: Bring me men to match my plains: Men with empires in their purpose and new eras in their brains.” ~ Sam Walter Foss
“Great empires are not maintained by timidity.” ~ Tacitus
“When I dare to be powerful – to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” ~ Audre Lorde
“I used to want the words ‘She tried’ on my tombstone. Now I want ‘She did it.’” ~ Katherine Dunham
“The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.” ~ Bruce Lee
“Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.” ~ Shannon L. Adler
Blessings to you all, and never give up!
