Friday Philosophy…The Senses

This week, I had the opportunity to do something I had been interested in trying: flotation therapy. That experience has led to this post today, as part of the experience is sensory deprivation. It’s probably the closest to an out-of-body experience I have had. So, we arrive at the topic of thoughts on the senses. 🙂

“Our bodies have five senses: touch, smell, taste, sight, hearing. But not to be overlooked are the senses of our souls: intuition, peace, foresight, trust, empathy.” ~ C. JoyBell C.

“Where the Mind is biggest, the Heart, the Senses, Magnanimity, Charity, Tolerance, Kindliness, and the rest of them scarcely have room to breathe.” ~ Virginia Woolf

“Where the senses fail us, reason must step in.” ~ Galileo Galilei

“A poet must be a professor of the five senses and must open doors among them.” ~ Federico Garza Lorca

“In modern times, if the sole measure of what’s out there flows from your five senses then a precarious life awaits you.” ~ Neil DeGrasse Tyson

Happy Friday, and blessings to you all.
