Friday Philosophy ~ Goals

Goals: a necessity, and a puzzle. To really know where we are going, we do need a destination. But if the destination is so far away we can’t even imagine we see it while we squint with one eye covered, it’s too easy to become discouraged.

Mini-goals can be a valuable stepping-stone on the way to those big, life you’ve always dreamed for yourself goals. 🙂

So, for this night, some thoughts and quotes on goals.

“Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.” ~ John Dewey

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” ~ Ursula K. Le Guin

“Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.” ~ Paulo Coelho

“Goals are dreams with deadlines.” ~ Diana Scharf

“You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.” ~ Stephen King

“Motivation gets you going, and habit gets you there.” ~ Zig Ziglar

To close, I just want to remind you of Isaac Newton. His first law states that “A body in motion tends to stay in motion, and a body at rest tends to stay at rest.”

All you have to do is begin. Once you start, you’ll find it easier on your heart to keep going, rather than quit.

Blessings to you all. Never give up!
