Friday Philosophy ~ Coaching

So many hours lately have been spent on writing curriculum, arranging my sub hours, talking to adult learners about programs, and working on accreditation that I find myself thinking about teaching and coaching.

So, for our Friday Philosophy, after 2 previous swamped Fridays, I want to share some quotes on coaching.

“Failure is good. It’s fertilizer. Everything I’ve learned about coaching, I’ve learned from making mistakes.” ~ Rick Pitino

“Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy.” ~ Wayne Gretzky

“Nothing is born into this world without labor.” ~ Rob Liano

“Make sure that team members know that they are working with you, not working for you.” ~ John Wooden

“It’s all to do with the training. You can do a lot if you’re properly trained.” ~ Queen Elizabeth

“Does coaching work? Yes. Good coaches provide a truly important service. They tell you the truth when no one else will.” ~ Jack Welch

“Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.” ~ Vince Lombardi

“Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it.” ~ George S. Halas

Coaching and teaching go hand in hand, in my mind. You teach when you coach, you’re coaching when you are teaching. And what a thrill both are.

Happy Friday, and blessings to you all…
