Mystics and Myths…

Since there was no post for Friday Philosophy this week, posting some thoughts tonight. 🙂

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge – myth is more potent than history – dreams are more powerful than facts – hope always triumphs over experience – laughter is the cure for grief – love is stronger than death.” ~ Robert Fulghum

“The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God’s eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.” ~ Meister Eckhart

“I will soothe you and heal you, I will bring you roses. I too have been covered in thorns.” ~ Rumi

“Mysticism and exaggeration go together. A mystic must not fear ridicule if he is to push all the way to the limits of humility or the limits of delight.” ~ Milan Kundera

“Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths.” ~ Joseph Campbell

“Myths can’t be translated as they did in their ancient soil. We can only find our own meaning in our own time.” ~ Margaret Atwood

A quiet Sunday, and blessings to you all…
