Simplicity: it’s not just the well-wishing in a Lynyrd Skynyrd song. 😉 In our family, we often talk about serenity as the watchword. I’ve also contemplated home as haven, and family as “the bubble” from which we close out the world.
Today, I thought I’d focus on what some bigger brains than my own had to say about simplicity.
“I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.” ~ Lao Tzu
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci
“The art of art, the glory of expression, and the sunshine of the light of letters, is simplicity.” ~ Walt Whitman
“Like all magnificent things, it’s very simple.” ~ Natalie Babbitt
“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” ~ Confucius
Of course, for me, no conversation about simplicity can be had without my father’s oft-repeated and very memorable comment on the subject:
“Life is simple – people screw it up.” ~ Ron Slee
Blessings to you all, and never give up!
