Words can rise

Of the moment

Or be a long-banked fire

All embers

Waiting to burst ablaze once more

They can weep

In a yearning storm

Or dance

To bring on the rain

Those words will flow

An inevitable current

Shaping all it encounters

Running rough edges

Until they smooth down

To silk

And the implacable

Is overrun – Caroline A. Slee
