We make ourselves small

to fit the space we have

though we would grow wild

in a world that is full size

we make ourselves quiet

modulated and calm

to fit the voice we were given

in our assigned roles

we will break the shrinking world

cast away our limits

occupy space and shout the heavens down

we were not meant

to be reduced

we were not meant

to be calm oceans

we are storms

boundless

screaming winds

destroyer or creator
