Present/Ancient
We too shall pass into relics and ruins
our larger-than-life present
moving beyond memory and knowledge
we are each Ozymandias
believing in our own importance
stamping each day with our signatures and footprints
standing outside the knowledge
of fickle time and her destructive path
there will be no works and days
from our reckless ways of the now
but soon we pass into ancient history
our names forgotten
monuments to ego long ago faded away
just a breath of a moment in history
