Transfiguration
We overlook the shifts
miss the subtle changes
the new rhythm guiding the dance
that dictates our choice and our chance
We set up a new dwelling place
where blindness and denial meet
choosing to see what has always been
discounting all that has come to be
Life is ongoing transfiguration
age taking our faces and forms
love donning the fabric of grief
our acceptance and acknowledgement are null
We fail to see our natural seasons
blooming and shedding with the sun
our hearts riding the waves of the tide
as we seek logic and structure
We are carried on the flow of time
wearing our new colors and lines – Caroline A. Slee
