It sounds like I’m about to do a write up on the Disney movie now. 🙂
No, I promise it’s not that! I’ve been learning a lot about bravery, and my misconceptions about bravery. I’ve long held onto the belief that bravery is synonymous with fearlessness. Of course, I’ve been wrong for quite some time.
This morning I watched a TED talk by Amanda Palmer. She was speaking about asking, engaging, and making yourself available to your audience. All of these concepts sound straightforward, simple – and they are. They are also courageous, because to ask is to make yourself vulnerable.
Today’s quotes will illustrate what it is to be brave.
“The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” ~ Nelson Mandela
“Courage is being scared to death, and saddling up anyway.” ~ John Wayne (I LOVE this one.)
“Being brave is when you have to do something because you know it is right, but at the same time, you are afraid to do it because it might hurt…But you do it anyway.” ~ Meg Cabot
“He who is brave is free.” ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca
“You’ll never do a whole lot unless you’re brave enough to try.” ~ Dolly Parton
Onward, and upward. Never give up! Blessings to you all…
