Tuesday Thoughts on Creativity…

As I read the novels of my fellow writers, and look at the amazing visual art created by my friends (yes, Michele and Rose, I am thinking of both of you), I wonder at all of this creativity. What makes the creative mind tick?

I know that, for me, stories seem to just come through me – I’ll often say that I didn’t know the ending to a story I’ve written until the ending was revealed to me. That’s what working with a “Muse” often feels like, I suppose.

So, as a result of all of this pondering (much more cheerful than last night), I thought today’s topic should be creativity.

“Everybody has a creative potential and from the moment you can express this creative potential, you can start changing the world.” ~ Paulo Coelho

“Be brave enough to live life creatively: the creative place where no one else has ever been.” ~ Alan Alda

“Every child is an artist. The problem is staying an artist when you grow up.” ~ Pablo Picasso

“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” ~ Jack London

“Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things.” ~ Ray Bradbury

I could honestly go on with these. Sending blessings…
