I was having a conversation with a childhood friend today, and we were talking about soul vs. body. You know, in a C.S. Lewis kind of way. “You are a soul, you have a body.” He said what an epiphany that information was when he understood it for the first time. But we talked about how easy it is to forget that crucial piece of knowledge.
You have to be relentless in your pursuits, in your awareness, to stay truly connected to who you are.
Hence, today’s quotes are about that: being relentless.
“I’ve known lots of people that are talented and nothing happens. It’s not about talent, it’s relentless drive.” ~ Julie Brown
“It is in my nature to be kind, gentle and loving… BUT KNOW THIS: When it comes to matters of protecting my friends, my family and my heart. Do not trifle with me. For I’m the most powerful and relentless creature you will ever know…” ~ Harriet Morgan
“If you have a goal, be relentless in your pursuit.” ~ Keith J. Davis, Jr.
“Evil itself may be relentless. I will grant you that, but love is relentless too. Friendship is a relentless force. Family is a relentless force. Faith is relentless force. The human spirit is relentless, and the human heart outlasts – and can defeat – even the most relentless force of all, which is time.” ~ Dean Koontz
“Character consists of what you do on the third and fourth tries.” ~ James Michener
You know, my last name actually means “unalterable.” I like to use that as a cop-out (wink, wink) to explain my stubbornness. I have to say, though, that being relentless has carried me through storms – while I could have instead remained stranded.
“Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever give in. Don’t ever stop trying. Don’t ever sell out.
And if you find yourself succumbing to one of the above for a brief moment, pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off. But never, ever, ever give up.” ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
Blessings to you all, and remember: Never give up!
