Friday Philosophy…Restoration

This evening’s Friday Philosophy is brought to you courtesy of date night. It’s been a week. There’s not much I can say about it all right now, but I can tell you that I was busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest. 🙂 So, post-dinner (and dessert, because “cheesecake” is one of my confirmation names), I’m feeling refreshed and restored. And, truly, ready for bed. We live to fight another day…tomorrow. Post-run.

Some thoughts on restoration:

“I have to be alone very often. I’d be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That’s how I refuel.” ~ Audrey Hepburn

“In Hinduism, Shiva is a deity who represents transformation. Through destruction and restoration, Shiva reminds us that endings are beginnings, and that our world is constantly undergoing a cycle of birth, death and rebirth.” ~ Karen Salmansohn

“One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.” ~ Lucille Ball

“For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for.” ~ Paul’s 2nd letter to the Corinthians

“Things are always better in the morning.” ~ Harper Lee

“Every single cell in the human body replaces itself over a period of seven years. That means there’s not even the smallest part of you now that was part of you seven years ago.” ~ Steven Hall

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” ~ Albert Einstein (True. Hideous, but true.)

We slough off our old cells: tissues that are dead and no longer bright. We continually become our new selves. When faced with the choice between grief or celebration, choose celebration.

Blessings to you all. Never give up!
