How many ghosts sought rest
Beyond that broken countenance?
The house stood crushed into shambles
Until someone cared enough
To build it back up…
The critical eye can see
When it is time to tear down
Bring the structure to its knees
And find the foundation again
Demolish to the ground
And construct the new again
How brave the ones who see
That they must level what exists
To create once more
And how lost are those
Who cannot take the measure
Of what is
To begin what must become

I really, really love this.
The natural highest point of interest/climax in the poem at The critical eye can see / When it is time to tear down /Bring the structure to its knees /And find the foundation again is so true, so good.
The first line is incredibly evocative. The facade of a house as a literal face.
