Dividing lines were such a soft sell:
“for your own good”
“to strengthen community”
“safety in numbers”
a lie we were all fed from an early age
meant to start us down the path of us versus them
except we are “them”
each of us chasing a path that is true
governed by that North star
left praying that those around us are not governed by hate
dividing lines have held strong, stronger
through the years
become the prison society has chosen
assuring division down the generations
