The sun sleeps late into the morning
the sky cooled with gloom and mist
sudden brightness and clear vision
shift into view as a surprise
before vanishing into the cloak over the earth
the dawn does not come on this side of the veil
leaving us in solitude outside of the world
each in our own limited space
without the sounds of industry or voice
