Why Gratitude Matters

I’m *mostly* a morning person these days. Mostly.

But there are those days – you know the ones, right? It’s so hard to just roll out of bed and into the day.

Sometimes I feel stuck on grumpy.

Today was NOT one of those days. Today was our first day back to school here, so I was all caffeinated and raring to go while I watched a sleepy teen and a sleepy tween stagger around the house scowling.

I was happy. Even though they were clearly stuck in the sleepy mopes land, we were all awake together, ready for the day. I dropped them off, grabbed my chainsaw, and attacked the “to do on the first day of school” list. 🙂

I don’t know how many mornings I’ve spent in the grumpy mindset. It’s not that I never get in a mood these days, I just feel like I bounce back more quickly.

Why?

Because I’m grateful.

I’m grateful for my family, and two healthy children who keep me on my toes. Grateful for the roof over my head and the food we share. Grateful for work I love. Grateful.

No matter how irritable or cranky I might feel for a moment, I have so very much.

How can I not be glad?

Blessings to you all!
