Your truth
is still the truth
no matter who denies it
it is meant to be spoken
not choked down
like so much poison
reappearing later
in all its toxic glory

Your truth
is still significant
no matter how many try to silence it
it is meant to be shouted
without reservation
no matter the blame
others may try to lay

Your truth
will still be heard
by those with a mind to listen
it rings through
visible for what it is
no matter how many might try
to cover it, twist it, or set it afire

Your truth
is still the truth
not some straw man
not the lament of the victim
but the power of your voice
your truth is a force
that will not be denied

No matter the competing voices
that seek to drive your doubts

Your truth
is still the truth – Caroline A. Slee
