We are not tied to the mast

we do not cast our eyes downward

we stand fast

the strange ballet of balancing

upon the ocean swells

every night we are cradled

in the waves that call us home

elemental beneath the starlight

a life spent half lost

as we navigate to an internal compass

driven towards places unknown

closing our eyes to find our way – Caroline A. Slee
