Invisible Mountains

Fog is a mourning veil
wrapping the world in blindness
bringing us through the landscapes
we know by heart
but surrounding us
with invisible mountains
transforming the familiar
into the alien and unknown
fog is a deception
meant as a trick of the eye
a wall without substance
a temporary blindness to the world – Caroline A. Slee

      • You’re welcome. Thanks for replying; it gave me the chance to read it again. It’s really lovely work. I just love these subtle meditations on what is right in front of us; whether we can believe our eyes, whether our memory is playing tricks on us. Is what we are looking at really something new, or the slightly different, is it “alien?”or just an unfamiliar familiar.

You managed to squeeze it all into twelve lines.
