Today I am using this blog to help raise awareness for a friend of mine. I attended High School with a lovely woman by the name of Heather. Heather recently appeared on our local news to request help for her son, Mason. Mason was born with Pierre Robin Syndrome, which is characterized by a cleft palate and a small chin. This then creates respiratory difficulties. Mason also suffers from Cerebral Palsy, and a form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut. There are many days when Mason experiences hundreds of seizures. My heart just aches for this poor, sweet baby and his family. You can watch the news story here:

As if her hands were not already more than full, Heather is an entirely selfless, amazing woman. When I was sick, she reached out to me repeatedly to share words of comfort and love. She experienced a family loss to Cancer, and had no hesitation about baring her soul with me in order to help me in my situation. Now, I hope I have a chance to give back to Heather. I had some dark moments during which her words were my silver lining. I know I told her thank you, but still… I have so much love and respect for her. I just want to be able to help her now. (Mind you, if I win the lottery, I am so buying Mason his bed first thing.)
So, Mason Darling needs a medical bed. The cost of the bed is $9000. Another mutual friend, Ashley, started a Fundrazr page for Mason Darling. Thus far, she has raised $1000 towards the cost of Mason’s new bed.
I would love if you all could reblog this post, share it on your Facebook pages and Twitter feeds with the link for Mason’s Fundrazr. The link is: fundrazr.com/campaigns/cXJQ2
LET’S GET MASON ENOUGH MONEY FOR HIS SLEEPSAFE BED TODAY!!!! Even if you, like me, can only afford a small donation, you can help to spread the word and help this beautiful family.
Thank you for your help, and blessings to you all…
