I usually do our laundry over the weekend. This weekend, I had the pleasure of running my first 5k since hitting remission with my running partner – my daughter. We had a terrific time. It was a breast cancer fundraiser, with a balloon release at the end. “Maddie” and I watched our two balloons twirl off into the sky, and had a bit of a cathartic cry.
Then we were off to Opera and Art in the park. My friend, Rose Tanner, is a painter and was showing her work. It was a lovely and exciting way to spend the afternoon.
Throw in a dinner with friends, and quick trip to my parents’ – hey, no laundry happened. I wrote and ran around.
This morning, I pretty much had to start running at a quarter to six. By 9:00 a.m., I had made 7 different stops before finally starting the laundry. I didn’t make it to climb stadium stairs or go on a hike. Now that I’m sitting down, I glanced at my fitbit and discovered that in the course of today’s chores (there was filing as well), I’ve traveled 5 1/2 miles.
All. Inside. My. House.
Sheesh.
Up until I read that, I was feeling a tiny bit out of sorts because I hadn’t even taken a half hour to hop on my treadmill. I think I can absolve myself of that now. 🙂
It’s been a beautiful Monday here, although we do seem to be hitting an early heat wave. I may be attempting to head to the Great White North this summer, just to escape from the heat.
Happy dreams, and blessings to you all…
