All of the dreams

Of the once upon a time

Some otherworldly magic

We imagine

While the magic enfolds us

Surrounds us

Uplifts us

Without our knowledge

Our eyes cast aside vision

In favor of modern wisdoms

Snake oils from so many claiming to be potion makers

While a thousand ancestors

Rise and tremble

To see the world fall away

From its rhythms

Long ago and this immediate moment

Magic creeps into the world

Though we may deny it

It does not die or rest

In the face of man’s rejection

The once upon a time

Of fairies, sprites and spells

Is the time

We rest within
