Friday Philosophy…Loyalty.

Loyalty. Allegiance. Devotion. Faithfulness.

I think most of us fail to recognize the value of these, until there’s a breakdown of them. What is loyalty? Why does it matter? As Shakespeare told us, our first obligation is to be loyal to ourselves. Beyond that, our loyalty is a choice. In some cases, maybe it’s a genetic imperative.

Still, choice comes into those relationships of loyalty at some point. Rather than carry on, I’ll share the thoughts of others on what loyalty is, or should be. 🙂

“If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.” ~ James Herriot

“Confidentiality is a virtue of the loyal, as loyalty is the virtue of faithfulness.” ~ Edwin Louis Cole

“I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me–they, and the love and loyaty I give them, form my identity far more than any word or group ever could.” ~ Veronica Roth

“Your truest friends are the ones who will stand by you in your darkest moments–because they’re willing to brave the shadows with you–and in your greatest moments–because they’re not afraid to let you shine.” ~ Nicole Yatsonsky

“Lack of loyalty is one of the major causes of failure in every walk of life.” ~ Napoleon Hill

Happy Friday, and blessings to you all. Remember, as the Bard said: “To thine own self be true.”

Never give up!
