Friday Philosophy…Nurture

We dragged ourselves out of doors today, into the beginning of the heat, and worked around the yard. Tonight saw my usual routine of watering everything in the greenhouse, once the sun had set. Morning saw my Moses win an award at a math competition, and the pure thrill that raced across his face when his name was called.

We nurture. As parents. As people. As members of a community. We take care of people and places and things within those spaces we occupy. Whether we do so in a deliberate way, or in a lackadaisical way, we still nurture and sustain each other – even indirectly.

So, quotes on nurture, for a Friday Philosophy (yes, on a Saturday night).

“Nurture your minds with great thoughts. To believe in the heroic makes heroes.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

“Nurturing a feeling makes it proliferate. Choose wisely. Joy, kindness, love, & caring will illuminate your life.” ~ Amy Leigh Mercree

“Always reward your long hours of labor and toil in the very best way, surrounded by your family. Nurture their love carefully, remembering that your children need models, not critics, and your own progress will hasten when you constantly strive to present your best side to your children. And even if you have failed at all else in the eyes of the world, if you have a loving family, you are a success.” ~ Og Mandino

“Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay.” ~ Dalai Lama

“We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.” ~ John Lennon

“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.” ~ Lao Tzu

Nurture yourself. Nurture your loved ones. Nurture those you meet with a smile, a greeting, a polite action.

Blessings to you all. Never give up!
