Friday Philosophy…Of Slumber Parties and Night Terrors

My eldest was at a sleepover last night. She and her friends had set up a Christmas caroling evening to raise money for Heifer Organization (heifer.org) and bravely went out to sing at stranger’s homes. I was thinking of how common Christmas carolers were when I was a child, but it seems to be rather uncommon here in California.

While Maddie was at her friend’s house, Moses had a night terror. This happens during growth spurts for him. I heard him begin shouting and raced into his room – but I terrified him with my sudden appearance (or with my crazy bedhead, I’m not sure which).

Needless to say, we are a bit tired here today. 🙂 My Friday Philosophy may be all about sleep in a way, although I’m going to categorize this as the Dream Philosophy.

“Sleep is the best meditation.” ~ Dalai Lama

“Reality is wrong. Dreams are for real.” ~ Tupac Shakur

“Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back to you: a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.” ~ Anais Nin

“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” ~ Abdul Kalam

Blessings and dreams to you all, and remember – as always – NEVER GIVE UP!
