So, as I mentioned a bit more than a week ago, I’ve been working diligently on “The Cancer-Free Trainer,” a (sort of) sequel to “The Cancer-Free Gourmet.” For those of you who have followed me for a while now, you probably know that my non-fiction comes from you.
In other words, as other cancer patients, caregivers, or cancer survivors ask me questions, I notice a theme. The first book came from the simple question: “How were you able to enjoy food while on chemotherapy?” This next book comes from the variations of the question: “How are you an athlete again?”
I don’t mean an athlete who’s going to the Olympics, by the way. 🙂 I have never aspired to that. Ever.
But, I ran a 5k this past Sunday at a pace better than my “pre-diagnosis” pace. I placed 4th in my age group, out of 26 women. I was in the fastest 25% of all finishers. Now I am setting new goals for race day next month.
If I can do this, you can do this. I’m just going to share the journey of how I did it with you. And here, I will share the milestones of each 5k/accomplishment.
To your health and strength, with blessings as always!
